Restore and Conserve Sustainable Agro-Forest Biodiversity:-Opportunity to Mitigate Food In-Security and Enhance Rural People's Livelihoods.
The project aims to help build the capacity of community members to enhance their local traditional knowledge and indigenous biodiversity management. The project is also about implementing of an agro-forest garden system developed from two food production methods aiming to enhance indigenous sustainable land management practices. This innovation is ITTA-ALLEY agro-forest garden system. It is a multi-layered system containing diverse food plants such as fruit and nut trees, vegetables and root crops. It aims to conserve and restore the land and its biodiversity thus protecting them from further degradation.
