SUSTAINABLE ECOLOGICAL ENHANCEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (SEED LAKE SEBU)
Brgy. Lake Lahit, the project site is at elevation of 650 meter above sea level, wherein 5 of the 7 falls locally called Malipayon Falls are located. The population of endemic wild animals like tarsiers, monitor lizards, monkeys, birds of prey and hard wooded trees are declining. The natural habitat is now constricted. Forest cover is decreasing along with the water discharge of natural springs.
The project will focus on biodiversity conservation and reforestation with the three main components: biodiversity conservation/rehabilitation, capability enhancement, and advocacy. Activities include integrated reforestation, environment watch group formation, community meetings and monitoring, capability and capacity enhancement of the PO.
