1.All elements of the project wee sucesfully implemented, with some delays (import of ticket selling automat from Austria was delayed a couple of months)
2. Billboards were installed with partially changed( twice a year ) exibition devoted to the Baltic sea, its biology and international aspects (HELCOM,international cooperation, main threats); special part devoted to the history of seals in the Baltic Sea and Hel Penninsula;
3.Publication of leaflets and brochures about the Marine station, seal campaign;
4.Reconstruction of previous garage/store for permanent shop with gifts, books on marine economy, seals etc;
5.the agreement between the Marine station, University of Gdansk and Friends of Hel society in place (70% of income from tickets is for maintenance of the Marine station (exchange of water, electricity, food for seals etc), 20% for NGO and 10% for the University.
6.Fokarium (seal station) became quickly the most popular place on the Hel Penninsula, visited in 1998 by over 500.000 tourists what underline unormous potential for ecological education and importance of good presentation (billboards) and sufficient number of brochures, leaflets;
7.Extra income is generated from the shop.
8. It is unique place and unique situation when we can say "activities linked to active protection of seals and huge multifocal information campaigns not only about the Baltic sea and its biology but about the Polish marine economy,fishery etc." are financially sustainable.
