Outreach of Lessons, Experiences and Community participation to a wider audience including policy makers and partners for better dissemination and replication of SGP approaches.
The goal of the project is to create and facilitate outreach of the lessons, experiences, approaches and community involvement and local empowerment through small pilot initiatives under the SGP to a wider audience on a national and international level.
Purpose/objective of the project:
? Document and showcase successful projects undertaken under the SGP in an effort to encourage potential project partners and NGOs to create local ownership and thus propagate the success of various developmental projects undertaken by the SGP India program.
? Initiate a process of wider dissemination and replication of small initiatives through related partners, donors and Government.
? Share lessons and experiences in environment related issues which are otherwise lost due to lack of visibility or a platform, with the national masses, school children and the policy makers through the National Network.
? Genearte debates, discussions and seminar on such initiatives under the GEF programme.
? Act as a valuable resource base for all the related partners, Grantees, NHI and local communities to use as a reference point.
Project outputs:
? One film of approximately 5-7 mins, on each of the 15 successful developmental projects implemented by the SGP in India.
? Consolidation of lessons, experiences and enthused partners, communities and grantees on the environment related issues through films.
? Greater awareness and outreach on the National and International level of the mission, activities, impact, success and contribution of the SGP initiatives through telecast of films.
Major activities required to achieve the project purpose are:-
? Discussion on the participartory and process approach adopted by the Grantees with the village communities/beneficiaries.
? Distil the key lessons, experieces, difficulties envisaged at all levels during the implementation of the project.
? Encourage grantees to share the impacts and sustainability issues of the projects approach for better replication.
? Uncover the levels of co-financing the project has generated through various sources i/e communities, NGOs, Local governments, industry and charitable organization.
? Share and put value on the interlinked issues of gender-equity and empowerment, confidence building of the partners and local communities, clearly the old women and children.
? Telecast of the films in the BHOOMI programme on the National Network at prime time.

Notable Community Participation
A direct impact of the project on the communities and project partners will be self-assessment of the projects undertaken, ganging their impacts and their processes of implementation. This will be a major source of self reflection and confidence booster to enhance their skills. They shall also be patners in developing the short film.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
The project is supported by Minstry of Environemnt & Forests govt. of India for developing films on 15 selected SGP projects in the country. The films will short 90 min. documentries shown on National Channel on Television. The focus to the programme is to disseminate information in the country and spread the Environmetal intiatives for awareness.
