PHASE II AND REPLICATION OF EFFECTIVE AND SUCCESSFUL SUSTAINABLE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES BEST PRCATICE FOR MOUNTAIN BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION
The project is an expansion and replication of proven successful Sustainable Indigenous Peoples Agricultural Technology (SIPAT). This technology revived indigenous and sustainable methods to improve the management of the forest, watersheds, and rice fields and promotes partnerships between the Kalinga people, local government and NGOs to ensure that the experiences inform policy and benefit other communities.

Objectives of the project: To train 36 indigenous farmers in Lacnog to transfer the environment-friendly and chemical/pesticide-free SIPAT farming system within four (4) months; To conduct two (2) educational tour to Danao by direct partners from Brgy. Lacnog and Brgy. Apatan to educate them on the concept, implementation and application of SIPAT; To expand and replicate the effective and proven successful IP Best Practice in responding to massive poverty and conserving mountain biodiversity thru SIPAT; To advocate within three (3) barangays the formulation implementation of biodiversity conservation measures particularly laws/ordinances including enforcement.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
SIPAT Farming Techniques will be replicated where traditional rice varieties will be used using the indigenous 200% organic farming SIPAT method. This replication will directly responds to massive poverty and biodiversity conservation.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
The project intends to promote mountain biodiversity using the SIPAT which was proven effective and successful indigenous peoples technology. This technology will lead to the preservation of the forest within IP communities in Kalinga.
