Darkhan - Spring
Spring is a most valuable life-supporting source in Mongolian Gobi. Over the last 20 or so years, many springs have dried up in Mongolia. If this trend continues in its current speed, half the all springs in Gobi will completely be dried up over the next 10- 5 years. The grant is given to a small local community group to protect a life supporting spring in the Gobi region for water supply of some rare and endangered animals as well as for establishing a small forest grove for mutual support with the spring. A small tree garden or grove to support spring flow is being developed.
