The project envisages to mobilize the families in the region for practical planting of medicinal plants, restoration of folk remedy formulas and their mainstreaming by establishing a Family Health Centre. Within the recent 10 years the initiative group of women registered as EcoHerbs Public Foundation has been disseminating the traditional plant-remedy formulas for health conservation, restoration and disease prevention. EcoHerbs has stepped up as an initiative team willing to mobilize the gardeners? cooperative members and young people (high school pre-graduates).
The project envisages systemic work in the areas listed below: Training in fundamentals of medicinal herb-replacement by establishing physic gardens at personal country gardens and schoolyard gardens of Kostanai oblast; Revitalization of folk medicinal formulas and explanation of the usefulness of cultivating medicinal herbs in the household gardens with the balance of forest-steppe landscape and showing an example of the rational use of bioresources; Practical training in the basics of medicinal herbalism and health recovery opportunities consistent with revival and practical dissemination of the best folk herbal formulas; Establishing demo sites (5) sot of physic gardens in the private countryside and schoolyard specialized gardens to show the opportunities of growing, harvesting and practical use of medicinal plants for health recovery of children and adults; The feast "Family Health and Healthy Biological Environment" with involvement of families of Kostanai district; Field trip of families (children and adults) to the forest and field areas in order to see the diversity of medicinal herbs with a focus on environmentally friendly attitude to the forest and steppe ecosystems.

Project Goal/ Objectives: Building Local Capacities in order to Conserve Rare Plant Species. To establish a network of physic gardens showing the opportunities of growing medicinal plants at personal country gardens and schoolyard gardens for health-improving purposes using water saving technologies. Establish a Family Health school to ensure systematic work with the families, young people and children focused on conservation, prophylaxis and improvement of health, restoration of old bygone herbalism and presentation to school trainees the best herbal formulas of the region. Oblast-scale public awareness on the environmentally friendly attitude to biological resources of the forest and steppe ecosystems including medicinal herbs.
