Co-Management on Forest Survey and Natural Resources Conservation for Mae Tum Watershed
? Objective:
a) To encourage forest area management, exploration, and protect natural resources in northern Mae-Tum stream area
b) To strengthen land usage of the community by managing natural resources and develop environmental-friendly and sustainable agriculture
c) To develop capability of community leader and network to be able to manage natural resources and environment sustainably in the area.
? Beneficial: 2,247 households
? Target area:
Northern Mae-Tum stream area in Ta-goh subdistrict, Mae-Sa-ruai district, Chiangrai province. There are 8 towns in this area.
? Proposed activities:
a. Activity to strengthen community?s ability
i. Training on project designing and writing report
ii. Youth training about culture and environment in the area
iii. Meeting on understanding the project, design the project in stream level, set up participating system from stakeholder in the area
b. Demonstration/Operation
i. Meeting to create and improve land usage rules, natural resources management, and community governance
ii. Platform to guarantee information base of forest exploration and, land and natural resources in the area
iii. Encourage sustainable natural resources management of the community
c. Knowledge management activity (gather information, result, lessons learned, and experiences from the project)
i. Create media to distribute to the public
d. Participatory evaluation
i. Follow up and evaluation on project?s progress

There are four main tribes who lived in the targeted area which are Lahu tribe, Akha tribe, Pga K'nyau Karen tribe, Chinese Hor/Yunnan
