1) At the pilot enterprise GUDO "Cherikov Center for Children and Youth Tourism, Local Lore and Excursions" an automated control system for heating the building - the "smart house" was introduced and boiler equipment was updated.
In order to demonstrate the results of improving the efficiency of the fuel system in the building of the GUIDO "Cherikov Center for Children and Youth Tourism, Local Lore and Excursions" and reducing CO2 emissions, the effectiveness of the introduced "smart house" technologies in the building was monitored, the results of which demonstrated:
reduced fuel consumption for heating a building after replacing boiler equipment and introducing an automated heating control and management system: the actual fuel consumption savings, taking into account the outdoor temperature for 2 months of the heating season (November-December 2019), amounted to 0.629 tons of peat briquettes.
Consequently, the fuel consumption savings over the entire heating season (7 months) will amount to 2.2 tons of peat briquettes or 11 m3 of wood, and this is a reduction of CO2 emissions by 4.1 tons per year *.
* at the stage of developing the project proposal, it was expected to save 0.9 tons of peat briquettes for 1 heating season with a reduction of CO2 emissions of 1.7 tons per year).

An additional project event was the project team conducting an audit of the heat efficiency of buildings in the Cherikov District, which showed that there are 3 main problems in maintaining heat in buildings:
1. heat loss through window openings, walls of building facades, entrance doors
2. freezing at the junction of walls, ceiling and floor
3. uneven heating of radiators

2) In order to increase the educational level of the population of the Cherikov district - the formation of environmental behavior skills among schoolchildren next activities were carried out:
ecological behavior courses were developed and put into practical use: "Ecology and enterprise", "Ecology and thrift", "Ecology and health",
62 schoolchildren of the Cherikov district were trained in the developed courses;
prepared a report ?Recommendations for teachers on the formation of environmental behavior skills among schoolchildren based on the developed environmental behavior courses?;
methodological materials and recommendations on the results of pilot training of schoolchildren of middle and senior classes in environmental behavior skills are distributed to all secondary educational institutions of the Cherikov district, as well as all District educational, sports and tourism departments have the opportunity to use the developed methodological materials in their region to educate young people in environmental skills behavior.

Please describe the direct/immediate effect of the Project implementation for the Project participants and/or beneficiary communities:
1). Partnership was organized with authorities, an educational institution, and a non-profit organization, including for promoting local solutions aimed at reducing CO2 emissions by introducing a building heating management system: partnership agreements were signed, a project team was formed, and a number of working meetings were held.
2)An example of increasing the energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of an administrative building through updating boiler equipment and introducing an automated monitoring and control system for building heating was created on the basis of the GUDO ?Cherikov Center for Children and Youth Tourism, Local Lore and Excursions?.
3) The Center for Ecological Behavior was created and equipped with the necessary information, presentation materials and tools (information stands, a projector, a screen, and a laptop) on the basis of the Cherikov Center for Children and Youth Tourism, Local Lore and Excursions.
4) Three courses of environmental behavior: "Ecology and Enterprise", "Ecology and Thrift", "Ecology and Health" were developed and put into practical use by the Center for Environmental Behavior on the basis of the Cherikov Center for Children and Youth Tourism, Local Lore and Excursions.
5) 62 middle and senior schoolchildren among the schools of the Cherikov district were trained in three developed courses of environmental behavior.
6) 29 informational publications were posted on the progress of the project and its results posted in electronic and print media on the project partners website.
7) 32 participants of the round table got acquainted with the results of the project, the possibilities of saving of the consumed heat energy, the content of the developed courses of environmental behavior.
8) 123 city and district executive committees of Belarus, and 1,100 enterprises and organizations, including state and municipal enterprises, were informed about the results of a pilot project in the territory of Cherikov, about successful experience in introducing smart home technologies in the energy systems of office buildings.
9) Methodological materials and recommendations on the results of pilot training of middle and senior schoolchildren in environmental behavior skills are distributed to all secondary educational institutions of the Cherikov district, as well as all District education, sports and tourism departments have the opportunity to use the developed methodological materials in their region to educate young people in skills environmental behavior.
