Youth Creativity for Eco Sustainability
This project will build youth capacity and facilitate their participation in the protection and conservation of their natural environment. The project will see SPARTA engage the Department of Youth Empowerment who has a long track record of creative and engaging programming for youth and work closely to seamlessly inject environmental sustainability education and practical engagement throughout the 2018 Summer Residential Camp Programming. This project will build capacity among 50 volunteer leaders who would then go on to impart their knowledge with approximately 200 young campers; assist in coordinating their engagement in theory and practical sessions. Sessions will educate campers on environmental issues, develop hard skills, facilitate their creativity and creative expression; provide an opportunity for them to develop and deliver creative messaging on environmental issues; inform them on ways in which they can have a positive impact of the environment and provide an opportunity for campers to be actively engaged in the clean-up of polluted areas.
