Stopping soil degradation with green manure and rehabilitation measures in socio-ecological production landscapes
Stopping soil degradation with green manure and rehabilitation measures in socio-ecological production landscapes
Under the first project, the grantee will grow green plants and organize trainings on how to grow such plants. The grantee will determine and evaluate soil type, plan soil rehabilitation activities and make recommendations to that end. Soil for green plants is rehabilitated through fertilization with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Under the second project, the grantee will examine soil on a 2-hectare field and make relevant recommendations. It will also plant a forest strip to protect against soil erosion and degradation, as well as a forest strip to protect the headwaters of Khuntsal and Khujirt springs.
