Promotion of energy efficiency and solar energy in public buildings
Promotion of energy efficiency and solar energy in public buildings
The project aim is to reduce the negative impact and mitigate the effects of global warming on the planet by introducing a new hot water system with the vacuum collectors using solar energy on the territory of the food unit of the Children's Specialized Sanatorium "Yalynka" in Puscha Voditsa, Kyiv; demonstration of the results of the project implementation. The main goal of the project is to facilitate the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and the consequences of global warming on the planet; attracting community attention to the global climate change issue and the use of renewable alternative energy sources; carrying out a series of informational and educational measures on the benefits of using solar energy.

Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
A new hot water system with the vacuum collectors using solar energy, in particular, three JTI photovoltaic modules, was installed on the territory of the food unit of the Children's Specialized Sanatorium "Yalynka" in Puscha Voditsa, Kyiv. It reduces CO2 emissions by 12 tons per year from the coal combustion. The use of traditional energy sources and the cost for the energy consumption are reduced, in particular reducing the electricity consumption by 7 890 kWh per year, which is about 15-16 thousand UAH in the monetary equivalent.
Gender Focus
Gender equality is a part of project policy and all parties participate in project activities on equal base and benefit from project results.
