Provision of Over 400 Solar Lanterns and 100 Smokeless Stoves
The main two-way-goal of the project is decline of the greenhouse gases emission and preserving natural ecosystems in UC Karh Malik district thatta, by promoting use of the sun as a source of energy. Solar energy lantern for communities whose houses are dark with absence of electricity and fuel efficient stoves usage for cooking, heating water, instead of coal and wood will result in a significant decline of negative human impact on the nature will ultimately help reduce the burden on environmental degradation.

Objective 1
? Ensure provision of 400 solar lantern in 15 villages of targeted district by declining greenhouse emission and preserving natural ecosystem

Activities

Three project committees will be formed by the executive body of the organization.
Project management committee (4 members committee) Procurement committee (3 members committee)
? Recruitment committee (3 members committee)
? Recruiting new staff or deputing existing staff for smooth running of the project activities.
? Project orientation will be provided to staff hired/ deputed.
? Project launching workshop for community and other stake holders. Press briefing will
? be release for local newspapers
? Establish criteria for installation of communal solar lights in the selected villages.
? Field based mapping to ascertain provision of 400 communal solar lantern to most deserving poor community members
? Lights in line with the criteria.

Expected output

? Committees are formed
? Project Staff has been hired and deployed with job description to carry out project activities
? 400 solar lantern have been provided to the targeted poor communities and houses are illuminated with solar light giving them less complex of electrcity
? Environment is upgraded through alternate renewable energy

Objective 2
? Provide fuel efficient stoves to 100 rural women in regards to burning less woods and efficiently work for domestic chores without hazardous effects on their lives and environment

Activities

? Selection of the 100 most worthy to be facilitated women for the 100 fuel efficient stoves in the targeted villages
? Installation of 100 fuel stoves
? Trainings for women to embrace fuel efficient stove making and same to replicate with next house living

Expected output

? 100 poor women have been selected for the fuel efficient stoves
? 100 women are trained in capacity to introduce fuel efficient stove to others for adapting the same


Objective 3
? Sensitize communities through awareness raising regarding renewable energy in order to embrace the quality activities to reduce the burden of environmental degradation caused by wood-burning and kerosene usage in absence of electricity in the targeted villages

Activities

? Beneficiaries groups will be formed in order to involve these groups in implementation of project related activities like providing space for the installation of communal solar
? 20 Awareness sessions will be conducted with all targeted groups
? Capacity building of rural 100 women to become expert in making and rendering services to next resident for ensuring fuel efficient stoves prevailing in the area

Expected Output

? Communities are well aware of the Solar lantern that have provided same are promoting solar renewable energy and avoiding environment degrading ingredient
? Communities are sensitized towards environment and ensure usage of less harming substances

General Activities
? Lights and maintenance of these lights after the completion of project. One person from each household in the particular cluster will be the member of the beneficiary group.

? Signing of MOU with the beneficiary groups by defining their roles and responsibilities.

? Formation of Operation & Maintenance Committee at each location and establishing post project maintenance fund by collecting 2% of the total cost of communal solar light system on an upfront basis from each beneficiary member of the group.

? Procurement of solar lights through bidding process and ensuring transparency through procurement committee.
? Selected supplier will provide Technician and other required inputs for proper installation of communal solar light including civil work. Moreover he
? will be responsible for providing after sale service for at least six months and orientation
? Handing over of Communal solar lights to the beneficiary group.
? Provision of 100 fuel efficient stoves
? Sensitization and awareness sessions to the community members
? Progress report/financial report will be prepared and submitted on monthly basis.
? Audit report for the project from chartered accountancy firm
