Plant and Rehabilitate the Mangroves at Moriser Island
Activities proposed in the project are mainly focus on forestation, conservation and rehabilitation of Mangroves and involving the local community for the plantation of Mangroves on various selected/identified spots/sites in the proposed areas.

Objectives and Proposed Activities

Objective 1 : Conservation and Plantation of Mangroves (Aviciena) on 150 acres.


Activity Streems
? Intensive survey of the area/spots/sites has to be undertaken before the plantation of Mangroves.
? Establishment of Nursery.
? Transplanting of nurseries to the proposed area.
? Plantation of Mangroves in the proposed areas.
? Establishing a Project Office.
? Hiring of a Project Staff.
? Purchasing furniture and fixture.
? Coordination meeting with forest department for the participation and technical support.
? Encourage local communities to plant and nurture Mangroves Tree.





Objective 2: Improve the livelihood of the local fisher-folk communities through sustainable use of mangroves

Activity Streams

? To create awareness about the Mangroves.
? Improved natural resources management (mangrove forest) of Shah Bunder.
? Improved livelihood security and equitable benefit sharing through better natural resources management practices (Mangroves) with the support of different stakeholders
