Farmers Against Climate Change: Adaptation Through Salt-Tolerant Organic Farming
*Note: Originally LEB/SGP/OP6/Y2/CORE/LD/2017/04
The approach taken by this project is to adopt a climate change adaptation measure against increasing salinity in coastal agricultural communities by means of introducing salt-tolerant crops to farmers with cases of increasing water and soil salinity as a method of combating the detrimental effects of climate change. The suggested pilot areas are Jieh and Barja. Jieh and the main crops grown in both areas include banana and citrus trees, both of which are salt-sensitive crops, with susceptibility to increased salinity in irrigation water and soil salinity
