This planning grant will help determine whether a small industry can be developed using a species of the castor seed found in Saint Lucia. The grantee will engage in both primary and secondary research and will prepare a map with the location, distribution and density of plants. Some training will take place and a market survey will be undertaken along with a break-even analysis. Finally, a FG project proposal will be submitted for review and a decision by the NSC.
