Many of the Kau Wo Wolo lack the technical and technological capacity to report on the progress of the project. Amelia Borofsky, Gemma Cubero, and the NC have been crucial in this regard. By the end of the project, it is hoped that at least some members of the Kau Wo Wolo will have learned the processes and skills for reporting on project progress. Other capacity building activities include the filming and production workshops held in the community.

The film and production workshops may inspire youth to pursue film & production as a career in future.

The first month will be spent training local youth how to assist with sound, camera, and still photography. This will be done through the two villages and youth groups. Two trainings will be offered, one for Tawalalo and one for Tawangake. The most interested youth/school leavers will be hired to be part of the production team. One workshop will also be delivered at the school teaching Form 5 students how to tell their own stories with digital media. Youth in the workshops will be encouraged to continue to monitor the changes in their environment using tablets at school and to share images and videos with Climate Change Cook Islands on their Facebook page.

The video hopes to influence local and regional policy, by showcasing Pukapuka's motu and laui (rahui) systems. These related to CBA indicators in terms of climate smart agriculture, food security, and cultural innovation.

The video will be put on our Homecoming: A Film About Pukapuka Facebook Page, which has over 2,400 followers. It will also be included as an extra on the dvd release of the full-length feature. We will also feature the video on the film?s website and can track the number of views. The video will also air on Cook Islands Television at least three times providing insights to other islands

The whole project revolves around the Pukapukan people and their resiliency and way of life. With the full participation of The Kau Wo Wolo and the Pukapukan community, two storytelling workshops will be conducted in which knowledge about creating an impactful story arch will be shared, key elements to the story will be researched, and participants trained in how to use their environment to shoot video and learn the basic steps to shoot their stories on climate change resilience. The innate indigenous knowledge Pukapuka can offer to the world will be shared in the video.
