The project successfully completed the strategic intervention of diverting water through canals, erected retention walls and planted fodder, bamboo and N2 fixation plants. The project constructed 250 diverting water canals to divert rain water and reduce the infiltration and percolation of water. Likewise, the project also erected 550 cubic meter of retention wall in 18 strategic location to divide and break the drifting land mass and planted fodder, bamboo and N2 fixation plants in 5 location. These initiatives had saved 11 ha of land and also reduced the vulnerability caused by drifting land mass.

Additionally, the project also supported to construct 3 water recharge ponds, repair one recharge pond, improved 2 spring water sources and installed 250 improved cook stove. The project also conducted soil test in 34 different sites to understand the soil quality for agriculture, trained 78 farmers on organic vegetable farming. One group of farmers (more than 20 farmers) to initiate organic commercial farming in 5 ha of land.

The project worked closely with local community and local stakeholders including, Rural Municipality, District Forest Office, Soil and Watershed Management Office, Agriculture Knowledge Centre,
Division Irrigation Office and District Livestock Office not only to generate cofunding but also to
ensure the sustainability and ownership of project activities.
