The main objective of this project concept is to provide alternative livelihood for the fishermen in the community of Kayangal and Ngarchelong. With recent efforts in the Northern Reefs reforming fisheries and introducing innovative fisheries management mechanisms to help reverse the declining fish stocks. Fishermen need to look for alternative livelihood and help relieve the pressure of overfishing causing the declining fish stocks. This project will help provide alternative livelihood to support the sacrifice the fisherman are making. Main activity under this proposal is to provide assistance to fishermen to start clam farming and offshore deep water bottom fishing as other means to support their livelihood.
