The main activity of the project was a competition of eco-projects, the winner of which became the project proposal of the Khrestivka community and the NGO "Dolynska community" on alternative solar energy for water heating in the kindergarten in Nadezhdivka village, Kherson region. 11 project proposals were received, and the winner was announced at the International Investment Forum "Tavrian Horizons: Cooperation, Investments, Economic Development".

The winning project was implemented - a heliosystem consisting of 2 solar semi-vacuum collectors and a combined 1000-liters boiler for water heating for the needs of the Nadezhdivka kindergarten was purchased and installed, which allowed to reduce 30-40% of payment for electricity and the amount of gas emissions, to provide comfortable conditions for children and kindergarten workers that positively influenced their health and working capacity.

An eco-route in the park Golosiyivsky for children of junior school age was established. It has a length of 1500 m, has 8 stops and introduces visitors to the animal and plant world of the land, historical and cultural environment. It became an instrument for environmental education.

X International Investment Forum "Tavrian Horizons: Cooperation, Investment, Economic Development" on September 29-30, 2017, was attended by about 750 participants who exchanged knowledge and experience, among them - diplomatic representatives of 12 countries, international organizations, experts, public organizations and researchers. The concept of the event was devoted to the prospects of the "green economy" development as well as the opportunities for the implementation of "green" projects in Kherson region.

The training "Project management, preparation of grant project proposals" was held on October 11-12, 2017 in Zaporizhya, aimed at increasing opportunities of women farmers in Zaporizhya region and associations of citizens in developing projects for raising their environmental awareness. Ms. Wang Nguyen, Director of the Office of the United Nations System Coordinator in Ukraine, visited the event.

Also, on July 13, 2017 the project team took part in the training on project management and preparation of project proposals for communities in Kherson region. Information about the importance of the implementation of initiatives on energy efficiency was disseminated and preparation of communities interested in cooperation in the second phase of the project was held. More than 50 representatives of communities, associations of citizens, public organizations of Kherson region, national parks and biosphere reserves took part in the event.

To spread public awareness a video about the "Art for Environment" campaign was prepared, information about educational and informational events was published on more than 20 websites, and the All-Ukrainian ecological newspaper "Development and Environment" was prepared. As a result, 1,443 people were informed about the importance of energy saving and alternative energy use through the demonstration of the ecological and economic advantages of the installed solar energy system for water heating.

In addition, about 34 new partnerships with state and local government bodies, research institutions, business structures, equipment manufacturing companies, environmental agencies, environmental NGOs and media representatives were established.
