Main goals of the project were achieved: sustainable, community-oriented practical solutions that provide access to low carbon energy were presented and promoted, and empowerment of civil society representatives was made.

Project results include:
1. A competition of community environmental initiatives was conducted in order to provide micro-grants for the realization of projects on low carbon energy access co-benefits. 11 project proposals were received. The project proposal of Khrestivka community became the winner of the competition. The initiative supported solar energy use for water heating in the kindergarten in Nadezhdivka village, which has already been successfully implemented.
2. Project representatives participated in the X International Investment Forum "Tavrian Horizons: Cooperation, Investments, Economic Development" on September 29-30 in Nova Kakhovka. During the forum, a wide range of investment opportunities in Kherson region and large-scale investment projects were presented. Representatives of the GEF SGP have distributed informational and educational materials, samples of products, exhibition stands, conducted master classes.
3. Project representatives participated in the environmental campaign "Art for Environment" devoted to the 25th Anniversary of the GEF SGP, International Environment Day and the International Dnipro River Day. A concert of the symphony orchestra on the water took place, attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Mr. Neal Walker, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Mr. Volodymyr Omelyan, Head of State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management Mr. Vitalii Petruk and other representatives of state authorities, representatives of UN agencies, CSOs, media and others. In order to raise awareness about the benefits of low carbon energy in the project, an informational and educational campaign was conducted among its visitors.
4. Two educational and monitoring visits to the Steppe Landscape took place on May 18-20 and August 5-9, 2017. The UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Mr. Neal Walker, took part in visits. Work meetings and consultations with the SGP projects, representatives of local authorities, chairmen of village councils, public organizations were held.
5. A training on project management and preparation of project proposals for communities of Kherson district was held on July 13, 2017. More than 50 representatives of territorial communities, citizens' associations, public organizations of Kherson participated in the training.
6. 10 videos - social advertisements on the benefits of access to low carbon energy, community capacity development and initiatives in this area - were created.
7. Case Study on low carbon energy access co-benefits was developed on the basis of the GEF SGP grant projects? best practices and lessons learned. Case Study includes analysis of concomitant advantages, scaling up and replication opportunities, collection of information on community-oriented solutions, identification of the most effective technologies.
8. Recommendations on energy-efficient advantages and opportunities of using "green" tax by the citizens have been developed and a study on the topic "Green" tariff as a mechanism for stimulating low carbon energy" in order to disseminate this information among the communities has been conducted.
9. Project has supported the development and empowerment of two networks created with the support of the SGP, about 49 news on two websites were published, in addition, posts on social networks were made, two articles were published in the All-Ukrainian newspaper "Development and Environment", and more than seven new partnerships were launched.
