Green earth and restriction of mercury use
The grantee will conduct a study on the use, transportation and storage of mercury by artisanal gold miners in Tuv, Darkhan-Uul, Bulgan, Bayankhongor, Uvurkhangai, Selenge, Arkhangai, Umnugobi and Dornogobi aimags and the safety measures they employ. It will also collect information on the sale of products and dumping of waste containing mercury. In addition, it will produce a manual to raise knowledge about mercury as well as products and waste that contain mercury and prevent its harmful effects.
