Implementation of alternate energy linked livelihoods initiatives for Ganga Rejuvenation in Sahibganj district of Jharkhand.
The primary objective of the project is to reduce dependency on mono cropping and diversify their income by enabling them through SHG formation, productivity enhancement by promotion of semi intensive rearing, strengthening vet care services and promoting duck rearing.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
Both men and women will be trained to enhance their knowledge and skills. 400 farmers will be trained in better livestock management practices. Trainings on different activities will be conducted for the target groups mainly through SHG platform and user groups. 2 exposure visits will be organized for the community. Bank linkage will be ensured, leadership development and other trainings will be given for long term sustainability.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Monthly review meeting will be conducted of the project staff to check the progress of the project. 3 village level workshops and 3 external consultancy services will be planned for SHG and animal husbandry interventions. Baselines for the biogas development will be created using Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA).
