“Support for domestic cheese making as an alternative form of employment of local population on and around specially protected territories in slavgorod district”
Project goal ? improving the sustainability of the production of home cheese making private farms in the Slauharad district as an effective method of self-employment increasing.

Project tasks:
1. Increasing the capacity of the initiative group of cheese makers for the organic production;
2. Training of owners of private farms on proper use of land as a way of combating land degradation and biodiversity conservation (effective grazing).
3. Promotion of home cheese making as a unique type of organic production and effective way to increase employment and self-employment of the rural population.
Expected results:
? Not less than 5 hectares of land improved, including prevented spread of cow parsnip over an area of 5 ha;
? Production of 15 tonnes/year of certified organic products, including home-made cheese according to traditional recipes in Slauharad district;
? First time for Belarus created a cluster for the production and sale of organic products, based on small family farms;
? Consumer cooperative manages the work of more than 20 cheese makers and small family farms
? Cheese-makers Group increased to 30 people;
? 50% of the cheese-makers have increased smalls in their farms;
? 75% of the cheese-makers have been certified and use the brand "organic product";
? About 5 000 people started to use organic food.
