STAKEHOLDER AWARENESS AND CAPACITY BUILDING FOR TWO HUNDRED AND FOURTY (240) FARMERS ON WATER SECURITY, CLIMATE CHANGE RESILIENT DEVELOPMENT AND ECOSYSTEM MANAGEMENT IN KIANG WEST, JOKADOU AND ILLIASA DISTRICTS,THE GAMBIA
The project aims at promoting the integrated management, development, utilization of water and related resources in a coordinated manner in order to maximize the social, economic and environmental benefits without compromising the sustainability of the environment and vital ecosystems. It targets to build the capacity and raise awareness of 240 people in 6 communities on the basic components of watershed/wetland ecosystems and terrestrial ecosystems, the factors and elements of changes of ecosystems and finally on how to address urgent and significant water stress climate threats and threat to the ecosystems. The organization and conduct of training workshops shall constitute the main activities of the project.
