Promoting Home Grown School Feeding through Climate Smart Sustainable Agricultural Production
This project was conceived to promote home grown school feeding program in Janack Lower Basic School through Climate Smart Sustainable Agriculture. The overall goal of the project is to improve food security for the home grown school feeding program of Janack Lower Basic School through integrated Climate Smart Sustainable Agricultural practices. One of the main activities of the project consist of the provision of 1 hectare of farm land for the school powered with solar energy; and with the four quarters of the farmland allocated for horticulture, animal management, tree nursing and beekeeping and poultry keeping. Another major activity of the project is the construction of a storage facility as well as a honey processing house.

Notable Community Participation
Activities such as the rehabilitation and restoration of the hand pump well and bee keeping shall be implemented by the Youth groups in the target area. School children will be taught climate smart agricultural practices and sensitized on climate change issues.
Capacity - Building Component
Capacity needs identified that are to be addressed during project implementation are value chain techniques for vegetable growers as well as animal management and bee keeping for animal and bee keeping attendants. Also, training on mixed farming techniques for teachers and SMC of the School is planned.
