Multifocal project
Project goal ? to create a regional mechanism to support micro-projects, respective to priorities of the GEF SGP in Belarus and aimed at the development of micro-region formed around the large natural objects.

Project tasks:

Task 1. Creation of the regional council for the implementation of projects in the sphere of GEF SGP priorities and the selection of micro-regions to participate in the project;
Task 2. Improving the capacity of local communities of micro-regions on environmental problems identifying and their solutions based on local initiatives and priorities of the GEF;

Expected long term results:
? Formed a minimum of 4 micro-regions around the development of unique natural objects;
? Supported 20 to 30 local initiatives, corresponding to the priorities of the GEF SGP and development priorities of micro-regions;
? The local community has mobilized at least 30 000 US dollars of domestic resources for the needs of micro-regions in addition to the resources of the GEF SGP;
? Contribution to the solution of local problems related to the conservation of biodiversity, land degradation and pollution of water resources, energy efficiency and resource conservation;
? At least 2 000 people took part in environmental activities (50% women, 50% men);
? At least 50 rural families reported improved quality of life
