Capacity - Building Component

Solar Powered Boat helps reducing noise and gases from the engine. It also reduce the risk to destroy coral reef by a boat paddle.

Replication of project activities

The project is the model of Solar cell boat. It has replicated throught the collaborative work with Kao Chang national park and Chang Tai community to build more solar cell boats for tourism usage and daily work.

The project management team collects and analyzes the data, then distributes them.

The project would be a model in using alternative energy with tourism sector and fishing which are the main income of the community.

This project helps the tourism in Koh Mak by creating activities for tourists.

This project is a part of Low Carbon project in Koh Mak, and it influences the Green City policy of Trat province.

Project Results

- Co-management: Two government officials became project advisors since the project begins.
- Establishment of network/ fund/ new institute: A fund is established called "Ship funds".
- Concrete outcomes/ achievements: The boat has been used 15 rounds per month with 6-8 people per round in Koh Mak.
- Lesson Learned: Funding problems were faced/ Want people to realize the importance of the project.
