The project worked in 8 districts of Kabul city on the main road leads to northern provinces of Afghanistan . Main activities under this project are plantation and raising environmental awareness. Most of the trees have been planted along site the high way.

Output level results are following:

1. 25,000 non-fruit trees planted with the support of communities
2. 8 Environment committees established. Each committee is consist of 5 members from the cluster of Community Development Councils and composed of men and women.
3. Awareness of more than 8 District Development Assembly Members raised on environmental issues. total of 300,000 community people in living in villages along the Kabul to northern provinces highway directly benefited.
4. An irrigation system established by equipping the communities with 16 motorbikes in 8 districts. The district administration is supporting the communities in procuring the gas fuels for the motorbikes to operate. Communities themselves have taken the lead to irrigate and protect the trees on regular basis.
5. 200 students and youth have increased knowledge and understanding on the importance of planting more trees and how trees contribute in reduction of air pollution and mitigation of climate change.
