The project aims to work in cooperation with the Urban Development Authority and Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation. Both bodies deal with construction related to urban wetlands, and the project activities can bring about sensitivity towards wetland specific biodiversity which will be incorporated in policies of future constructions.

The project functions as a pilot test on urban wetland protection and awareness. The strategies used to bring the message to the community and mechanisms used to protect the biodiversity of these areas can be reproduced and recommended for the upcoming 6th operational phase which will focus on urban wetlands.

The project will be made aware through print and social media. In addition strategic placement of signages in the public areas will also bring about awareness.
