Badululena is an isolated village that consists of 20 families. The common sources of livelihood include paddy farming and other agriculture activities while collecting and selling forest items as their main income. The project plans to introduce dairy farming, pepper planting and home gardening as alternative livelihood. People in Illukpelessa, cultivate paddy and vegetables for income. Home gardening, poultry farming, dairy farming are identified as alternative livelihood in Illukpellessa.

Both men and women are involved in the project activities. Their different behaviours, aspirations and needs of women and men are considered, valued and treated equally. Both parties will equally engage in livelihood activities. When compared to the men, women?s participation is fairly high in trainings. But men will actively participate in activities like forestation, etc.
