Project provides for the expansion of a fisheries reserve that includes the inshore, reef flats and outer reef ecosystem and for its' rehabilitation through activities like coral gardening as well as restocking. It also provides for the building of the skills of the project committee and women and youth groups in monitoring of the ecosystem as well as in implementing awareness programs for schools and the community. The Marine Protected Area management plan will be upgraded to include this expanded reserve. The project will enhance the economic as well as the tourism value for the benefit of the village in the long term.
