Project provides for the expansion of an existing fisheries reserve that includes the inshore, reef flats and outer reef ecosystem and for its' rehabilitation through activities like eradication of crown of thorns starfish as well as restocking. A ramp will be built to improve access to the MPA and to designated fishing grounds. It also provides for the building of the skills of the project committee and women and youth groups in monitoring of the ecosystem as well as in implementing awareness programs for schools and the community. The Marine Protected Area management plan will be upgraded to include this expanded reserve.
