Promoting capacity building and knowledge management activities among partners and stakeholders
Promoting capacity building and knowledge management activities among partners and stakeholders
GEF activities in Malawi have contributed a lot to the development of people and the country through the full-size, medium-size and the Small Grants Programme over years. Many of the results and achievements have gone unnoticed due inadequate capacity and efforts to collect, analyze, produce and disseminate information. Many of the CBO partners and smaller NGOs lack capacity in project development and management, monitoring and evaluation, development and dissemination of knowledge products, contribution to policy dialogue platforms. With the SGP portfolio growing, many of these grassroots organizations would be left behind if no deliberate action was taken to integrate them. Likewise, the many achievements, results, lessons and impacts associated with GEF activities would not be properly documented and disseminated to make a contribution to body of knowledge in environmental care.

The primary objective of the project is to build a robust CSO platform for advancing the GEF and national development agenda for planet health and human wellbeing. This shall be achieved through a number of specific objectives as outlined below:

? To increase availability of reference materials and training manuals in GEF focal areas by GEF Partners Network members at community level
? To improve skills of GEF Partners Network members in project planning, implementation, knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation and reporting in GEF Focal areas.
? To Increase information sharing, documentation and networking amongst GEF Partners Network members in Malawi.
