Chernihiv region is one of the most powerful agricultural areas in Ukraine with valuable natural resources and conditions for farming. However, lack of supporting activities and effective policy led to severe deterioration of the region?s pastures and land degradation. Therefore, the project?s mission is to establish technologies of managed pastures to combat land degradation and implement cost-effective animal husbandry. The technologies of creating managed pastures is developed and applied in the pilot area of Anysivka village of Chernihiv region. Within the framework of the project a range of perennials adapted to Polissia area are planted. Moreover, the project is aimed at raising ecological awareness of local population and improvement of the national legal framework in terms of reducing desertification level.
