Bozburun Traditional Production Landscape
Comdeks-SGP has identified Datça and Bozburun Peninsula as priority areas. In this context, works on ancient production systems and the conservation of nature are supported. From Hisaronu village to Ta?l?ca, Bozburun Peninsula is an area where best preserved nature and densely traditional way of life still remains. From Ta?l?ca to Turgut village, ancient terraces are still used actively and rural landscape continues to be largely processed in the same way today like it was done 2000 years ago. In this landscape, agricultural areas, that are mainly based on the rain and with very little interference to the soil extends and these areas are home to endangered species. Although there is a decline in the number of local traditional producers and biodiversity, Bozburun still has the opportunity to protect and develop this unique feature. Within the Comdeks-SGP Evaluation study conducted by Do?a Derne?i, there was a research on Bozburun Peninsula and large natural areas with the properties, rain-fed local products and the producers of these products have been identified. This project is a first step to be able to protect and share this extraordinary local and cultural heritage. The project primarily aims at the documentation of the determination of crops grown in this ancient basin and master manufacturers in Hisaronu, Bay?r, Sö?üt ve Ta?l?ca villages in Bozburun Peninsula; and later on, preparation of a sales and marketing plan for aromatic oil plants of Bay?r Village to set an example to all of the products. An inventory of local products that are grown in the region and sales and marketing plan for aromatic oil of Bay?r village are the main outputs of the project.
