In Khake-Jabar district of Kabul, Ibex was under sever threat due to decades war and insecurity. Armed men and other community people were hunting them and they were about to disappear in the areas when one of local civil society and community shuras come up with the initiative to raise the awareness of the communities to stop hunting of Ibex in the area. With the implementation of this project, about 2 hectares of land fenced and planted as a safe habitat for the protection and production of Ibex. Awareness of communities and youth in the area raised on the protection of wildlife and environment If someone would hunt ibex in the area, he will be subject to a fine ?locally called nagha?. He must pay certain amount of money as a fine to the community for a social welfare work. hunters are now the protectors. The project site is getting a natural recreational site for the local population and visitors from Kabul.
