Establishing a CSO Coalition for Sustainable Development in Saint Lucia
This project is the second phase of a project which prepared Saint Lucia's CSO Statement for the SAMOA Conference on SIDS. During this phase the goal is to establish a fully functioning structure and systems for the establishment of a National Coalition of CSOs.
The project objectives are to: (i) establish a coalition of Civil Society Organisations that supports sustainable development pursuits in Saint Lucia; (ii) develop and implement a plan of action to give effect to the recommendations of the SAMOA Pathway at the local level; (iii) promote the implementation of the outcomes of the Civil Society Communique submitted to the GOSL for presentation in Samoa; (iv) promote greater civil society participation in governance and decision-making by strengthening the capacity of civil society organisations; (v) develop a sustainable financing mechanism for the sustenance of the Civil Society Coalition; and (vi) support the Coalition in establishing linkages with similar bodies active in other countries in the Caribbean and with international organisations promoting the involvement of Civil Society Organisations in governance and sustainable development pursuits.

Replication of project activities
As a capacity development project the activities can easily be replicated. These activities included needs assessments and capacity development in areas such as participaotory planning and management, mentoring and understanding the SDGs.
