Creating responsible actions for promoting resilient, low carbon construction (fly ash) for better environment and livelihoods in Rural Odisha.
The primary objective of the project is to demonstrate sustainable improvement in quality of life and a tangible reduction in vulnerability of rural families through interventions that enhance incomes and improve habitat conditions.
1. To link rural poor families in the target area with appropriate shelter, water and sanitation, low carbon resilience technologies and with finance to access the same.
2. To build capacities in rural unemployed women and men for taking up production and supply of materials, building elements and skills in a financially sustainable manner.
3. To build capacities of local institutions to develop and implement action plans related to physical asset and economic asset creation in villages.
4. To consolidate management capacities of local civil society institutions to provide facilitation support to the "people's habitat and livelihood process".
Project Activities:
A. Facilitate to construction of 2000 toilets and 200 houses with the support of Government of Odisha Water and Sanitation Mission and Panchayatiraj Department towards the dynamic of climate change and the building sector in low carbon and resilient technology.
* Selection of beneficiary with consultant with the Government Department. (PRI/WSM)
* Awareness building on low carbon resilient technology.
B. Technology Demonstration Centre (TDU) Government of Odisha.
Project Objectives:
1. Reaching 1000 families in 25 villages in 10 Panchayats and 2 blocks of Cuttak district of coastal orissa with services for structurally strong and cyclone resistant habitats (shelter water and sanitation).
2. 100 families linked to habitat credit facilities from women's housing cooperative of Self Help Groups.
3. Availability of drinking water through roof rainwater harvesting and improved sanitation in 500 households in 25 villages into blocks of coastal orrisa.
4. 10 artisan self help groups trained and linked to the CORE Ashraya resource center providing service to homeowners and village community groups.
5. 20 Groups/ individual building material production and sanitation enterprises providing products and services to village community, government projects and homeowners in a profitable manner.
6. Increase in incomes and better health in villages under interventions.

Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Impact
Local institutions will be strengthened (village housing cooperatives, Panchayats and NGOs resource centre). Links will be established with micro-credit institutions. Village based self help groups will be connected to access habitat credit from housing cooperatives and rural banks- technical application preparation and assessing group credit worthiness. The NGO will collaborate with the government department to ensure smooth functioning of the project.
