Land Development and sustainable approaches among tribal households by equitable use of natural resources.
The project addresses 3 sectors for sustainable development, land use and livelihood. The project aims at improving living conditions of tribal community of 10 villages in Koeltondang Panchayat at Chakradharpur, West Singhbhum district.
Project Objectives:
1. Enhance food security and cash income among 500 farmers by introducing improved farming practices and sustainable natural resource management.
2. Environmental protection and promotion to revitalize the depleted forest cover.
3. Sustainable CBOs are formed and institutionalized.

Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
2 SHG cluster will be formed and strengthened. Women will strengthen their active participation in Gram Sabhas and they will be equally involved in taking decisions in meetings for village governance and availing different schemes. Farmers use water harvesting structures accessed through projects and government schemes to control the runoff water and thus protecting their crop fields from soil erosion. Gramin bank will be established in 3 villages to restore indigenous species seed. The project will carry our necessary capacity building for rural producers, the members of producer organizations and staff of implementing agencies. Farmers will be provided with improved agriculture practices through SRI with organic farming (Demo-community orientation + conoweeder + sprayer).
Capacity - Building Component
50 traditional leaders, SHGs and PRI members will be trained on 8 components of good governance and millennium development; good governance & PRI. 60 members will be trained on village developmental vision settings for making village development plan. 80 members will be made aware on ?Swadhikar- Right based approach for integrated development. Exposure trip will be organized for 40 farmers at HARP, Ranchi for improved cultivation. 50 participants will be trained on benefits of soil and water conservation measures. 60 farmers will be trained on vegetable cultivation and horticulture initiative with organic farming (green house, vegetable nursery raising, drip irrigation, dry land horticulture)
