Capacity - Building Component

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods

The construction of a unit for processing fruits will assist the families in recognizing alternative means of production and economical viability in the cerrado.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment

These activities serve as an example for the entire local population which sees results in the amount of water available in rivers and reservoirs, become conscious and aware of the need for conservation of the area.

Project Results

- 13 families directly involved in the project, involving 11 women and 1 youth. The families involved are from the General Settlement Projects of Garcia, Nazaré and Vacaria, in the municipality of Sidrolândia;
- creation of 01 group profile in the social network Facebook and Instagram for dissemination of actions (https://www.facebook.com/pg/cepegecerrado/photos/?ref=page_internal);
- approximately 1000 ha of Legal Reserve of PAs under sustainable use;
- 01 community kitchen reformed and adapted according to the health surveillance guidelines;
- 01 course of baking done, involving 12 people;
- visual identity of the group drawn up and in use;
- 2 species of extractivism being collected: pequi (200kg in 2016) and guavira (20kg in 2016)
- the holding of 01 exchanges to the Fruit Processing Unit of the Cerrado of the São Manoel Sustainable Production Group, in Anastácio-MS, with the participation of 12 people from Cepege;
- Market articulation for the sale of production: Sidrolândia Municipal Fair, MST Cultural Campus Show, Solidarity Economy Commercialization Center in Campo Grande and Sidrolândia PNAE;
- in the set of strategies the group has managed to market about 20 tea packs (5gr), 10 fruit preserves and 100 bottles of kombucha.
