Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
The demonstration projects in selected kindergartens of Rustavi (#21) and Gori (#16) cites are staffed mostly with women (98% of administration staff, teachers) characterized for kindergartens of Georgia. The children of selected kindergartens are represented with equal number of female and male. Totally, in both kindergartens the number of direct beneficiaries is about 345 children and 35 teachers. The indoor environment in the selected kindergartens is under comfort level. More over the technologies that are responsible for creating of comfort in the buildings are inefficient that don?t ensure full heating of the buildings as well as non-rational consumption of energy recourses (NG & Electricity). Correspondingly, the non-comfort environment is very sensitive especially in winter period for women and children. All RE and/or EE measures in both kindergartens will be carried out by companies where the main workforce is male. So, the kindergartens? staff will be actively involved along with EECG and hired companies? staff during monitoring process of EE and/or RE measures that will provide equal gender participation in the implementation of demonstration projects in Gori and Rustavi.
Capacity - Building Component
The knowledge, lessons learned and good practice gained through the implementation of the demonstration projects as well as project results will be broadly publicized via EEC Georgia web-site, EECG Face-book page, EEC Georgia weekly newsletter for all interested stakeholders as well as CoMO Grant project?s web-site with support of leader Ukrainian partner EEC Ukraine, web-sites of Gori Municipality and Self-governing Rustavi City to learn about the project findings. These activities will promote in capacity building and for wide applications of EE/RE technologies throughout Georgia and in nearby countries.
