Restore degraded agro and forest ecosystems on the territory of Dedoplistskaro Municipality to lay out multipurpose sapling nursery and almond plantations in the village of Khornabuji. Promote ex situ conservation; build capacity of the local population to arrange and manage plantations.

Project Characteristics and Results
Project sustainability
Municipality will continue management of established nursery , so restoration of degraded agricultural and forest ecosystems will be ensured with produced plants; furthermore project will contribute to conservation of endemic species, such as: almonds (Amygdalus georgica), walnut and etc.
Gender Focus
The Association New Horizon was established by women. Accordingly, the majority of the association members are women. Non-industrial (non-commercial) legal entity - New Horison (among them five women) will be involved in project implementation and management (community meetings, preparing reports). Due to the fact that project activities are not heavy, women will also be employed in the sapling nursery and almond plantations (10-15 women). Ultimately, gender resources will be utilized and women?s capacity building will be ensured. 2,591 inhabitants (mostly women) of the village of Khornabuji will become the project beneficiaries. 29,578 inhabitants of Dedoplistskaro Municipality will be indirect project beneficiaries.
