Notable Community Participation

15 families of São Manuel will work together in order to improve the infrastructure of the units specialized in fruit production along with processed goods. Sanitary condition improvement and acquisition of proper food processing equipments will also have community participation.

Policy Influence

Anastacio's city hall has been encouraging the consumption of natural products, amplifying the sales opportunities for the participants of the project.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment

The project can create the opportunity to enlarge partnerships, to replicate the experience, and to participate in creation more sustainable economical activities in the community.

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods

The project will help create larger scale production of cerrado products along with adequate sanitary conditions for social ecological benefits as well as widening product availability in small markets and solidarity fairs in the city. Success in the commercialization of products originated from sustainable anagement of the local Cerrado will create an alternative source of income for the small farmers, who will adopt environmental conservation practice

The women from São Manuel compose the majority of participants in the execution of the project.

Project sustainability

With the sale of the biodiversity products made by the farmers, each family has been receiving a monthly income that contributes to the sustainability of the project.
