Development The Etnobotani River Plant to Increase The Community Economic Income and Biodiversity Conservation in Surabaya River in Gresik and Sidoarjo Regency
GOAL
Utilizing the riparian land through cultivation of native plants in Surabaya that has benefited ethnobotany to increase economic income communities and supporting biodiversity conservation in Surabaya.
OBJECTIVES
Objective 1 : Conducting conservation in Borders river with native plants Surabaya useful in ethnobotany to the community
Indicators : 1. Published publication manual inventory of plants worth ethnobotany in the border region of Gresik Surabaya and Sidoarjo
2. Obtained Data government agencies and community groups who implement and maintain the tradition of riparian vegetation utilization times of Surabaya in Gresik and Sidoarjo
Activities : 1. Research Border River Plant Identification traditionally utilized by the local community in Gresik, Surabaya and Sidoarjo
2. Focus Group Discussion in each village to identify groups of people who still carry the tradition of the use of riparian plants for medicinal herbs, food ingredients, natural dyes, building materials and handicraft
3. Print guidebook ethnobotany
Objective 2 : Increasing Economic Community Income through entrepreneurship development based on the riparian land that used by etnobotany
Indicators : 1. Formation of groups of SMEs in each of the target villages
2. Forum Members socialization and training for SMEs for product development ethnobotany production processes, marketing, promotion, and bookkeeping operations
3. SMEs using revolving capital for the production of ethnobotany
4. Exhibition held promotional products to increase ethnobotany sales demarcation products Surabaya
Activities : 1. FGD for the establishment of SMEs who are willing to develop products ethnobotany economic value in each target village, with the following plant species
a. medicinal plants: red ginger, turmeric, vetiver, lemongrass, betel, beluntas, cup tree, tree lo, gempol trees, laurel, lime.
b. crops: cabbage, kale, spinach, tomatoes, peppers, beans, marigolds, jelarut, taro
c. fruit crops: bananas, passion fruit, luwo, lemon, lime
2. Increasing the capacity of SME units in the process of production, marketing, promotion, and bookkeeping operations.
3. Distribution revolving capital to make the greenhouse vegetable crops (cabbage, spinach, kale), and the development of products ethnobotany by a group of SMEs
4. Exhibition ethnobotany product promotions riparian Surabaya
Objective 3 : Promoting the riparian land through local crops conservation
Indicators : 1. Ethnobotany Garden Border Surabaya unveiled by the government and society
2. Educational travel programs conducted by inviting students and students visiting the SME and ethnobotany garden border Surabaya
Activities : 1. Conserving etnobotany crops in Surabaya river by microfinance
2. Launching the Ethnobotany Park in Surabaya river
3. Development ecotourism study in etnobotany for college student
EXPECTED OUTPUTS
1. Documentation of riparian plant species that benefit in Surabaya ethnobotany
2. Maintaining the cultural traditions of the community in the use of riparian plants in the Brantas river
3. Growing need to cultivate useful plants in ethnobotany and economic value
4. Increased economic income communities through the development of plant-based riparian useful in ethnobotany
5. Increased environmental awareness and youth Brantas watershed communities to conserve useful plants in riparian ethnobotany Surabaya
6. Maintaining the border in between riparian plants

Direct : 1. Society Gresik in 4 villages namely Sumberame Village, Wringinanom, Lebaniwaras, Bambe, each village consisting of 10 women
2. Society 3 Sidoarjo district in the Village Quarry Village, and Orange Legi Bogempinggir Each village consisted of 10 women
Indirect : Brantas watershed managers of government agencies and communities along the Brantas river basin flow is estimated to have a positive impact for all villagers target of around 15,000 people

1. Submission of working capital loans without interest are expected to continue to roll on an ongoing basis to fund product development ethnobotany 2. Integration of ethnobotany products as souvenirs and culinary services will provide economic benefits to the members of the PKK and Women's Cooperative in order to support the sustainability of productive crop cultivation program in the border river to provide raw materials for products ethnobotany
