Sustainable Green House Gases (CO2) Emission Reduction Initiatives
Based on the research conducted by Ghimire (2013) in the adjoining VDC of the proposed project areas, there was a massive use of firewood, which ultimately leads to deterioration of forest and per capita energy consumption was very high as compared to national standards. A latest research found that there has been massive use of firewood emitting 1589.220 kg CO2, this amount of CO2 per capita though use of firewood; resulting in forests deterioration (ibid). Per capita energy consumption level has been higher than the national standards of 15 GJ. The research directs reduction of CO2 and minimization traditional energy consumption. RETs such as ICS, IICS, SSHS, household biogas system and bio briquettes etc. could be disseminated under the project intervention. The project will further address the impact of CO2 through environmental awareness, education and dissemination of RETs and sustainable rural livelihood. With these lines of arguments, the proposed project is prepared to address sustainable CO2 emission reduction initiative through promotion of RETs, income and capacity development of community
