Improving Livelihood of local indigenous peoples of Nalma VDC
Nalma VDC is around 7,761 ropani of land with 2,580 populations (CBS-2001) in which 424 households accommodating 10 ethnic groups dominated by indigenous peoples 341 households. The largest community of Nalma VDC is indigenous Gurung with 282 households and Tamang 77 households. Similarly. Dalit 40 households and Brahman, Chhetri and Thakuri comprise only 8 households. It is 1400 meters above the sea level. It almost takes half day of walk to reach there from District headquarter. It has 9 Forest Users group having 2000 users. The forest types are mainly Schima-Castonopis and pines.

With the partnership with AEPC, the project tries to introduce renewable enegy technology, conserve shifting cultivation land and prepare ethnographic study report on indigenous peoples and natural resources.
