Introduction of soil bag construction technology and initiation of agro-tourism
This grant has been implemented by Clean Energy NGO in close cooperation with two professors from Hiroshima University of Japan who had generously provided a soil/earth bag building technology. A total of four small soil bag houses have been built as demonstration of using wood saving technology for accommodating local tourists who visit and stay with communities to enjoy local nature and livelihood patterns. While the grantee built one house for each of four community groups, they had also trained a number of local unemployed men in using the technology. By conducting these activities, the community groups have put foundations to develop eco and agro-tourism from next year. One group had even managed to receive a group of tourists before the end of tourism season last year.
