Developing organic agriculture in combination with renewable energy sources
Developing organic agriculture in combination with renewable energy sources
Project activities meet national priorities - increasing the share of renewable energy utilization, organic agriculture development, maintain long-term productivity and soil quality, encouraging cultivation of high quality products and organic crops.

The project will contribute to reducing of land degradation through appropriate tillage methods, rotation of crops and collaboration with scientists.
The proposed method of converting livestock manure into biogas and slurry will solve the manure storage problem and decrease soil and water pollution, and it will reduce consumption of natural gas and/or wood in households or small-scale livestock producers.
Awareness and education activities targeting younger generation will include organic farming, biogas production and utilization, demonstration of environmental protection benefits resulting in revenue increase.

Project Characteristics and Results
Project sustainability
Project sustainability can be seen by the application of: - Innovative eco technologies through which energy efficiency can be achieved namely bio-gas from household waste by the construction and use of simple bio-reactors for the production of bio-methane. - Innovative eco technologies through which energy efficiency can be achieved namely domestic hot water by the construction and use of solar collectors panels in Moldova for obtaining thermal energy. - Renewable energy in the context of combining organic farming to promote Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction in Moldova
Replication of project activities
The project ?Developing organic agriculture in combination with renewable energy sources?, implemented by NGO Rural Woman, more specifically the construction of the bio-gas station has been replicated by 3 farmers and a resident of the Northern region of Republic of Moldova;
