To empower Soon valley community members to actively participate in the sustainable management of natural resources through ecotourism in their community, to reduce poverty and improve livelihood.

Anticipated Results

6. The benefits of ecotourism are transmitted not only to tourists taking the tour, but also to local community and the whole ecosystem.

7. It creates a harmony through exchange of cultural, historical and geographical information to learn from the local culture and historical significance.

8. It improves the condition of resources by bringing funds to resources/places (wildlife, forests, lakes etc.) by means of tourists.

9. Ecotourism preserves the nature as well as innovating new entertainments such as bird watching, mountaineering, angle fishing, and animal safaris.

10. Ecotourism helps motivating the conservation policy of government and other Conservation partners to better understand the true value of resources, which, consequently, will demand better protection and strong conservation policy helping resources to live long.

11. It ensures sustainability by the involvement of local community to maintain the appropriate tourism development. The local community is the direct beneficiary of flourishing tourism in their area. Link between local business and tourism enables local people gain economically as well.

The activity is directly related to the forest and wildlife conservation. The target beneficiaries will be sensitized to protect the forest and wildlife conservation and assist in forest fire prevention and ban on hunting the wildlife species. The project interventions will act as a role model for other communities to protect their natural resources especially forest and wildlife. There is no potential risk in the smooth project implementation.
